Quality
Education
Canada spends more per capita on education than any other country in the
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD): 7.1% of
gross domestic product compared to an average of 6.1% in other OECD countries.
Student can choose from a number of universally recognized universities.
Citizenship and Immigration
Canada (CIC) recognizes the importance of foreign students to the academic
and business communities as well as to the Canadian economy. The efficient,
consistent and transparent processing of students remains one of the department's
priorities.
Eligibility
Most international students are required to have authorizations to receive
academic, professional or vocational training in Canada. Community college
and university students may be issued authorizations, which are valid
for the duration of their program of study. The customary pre-requisites
are that a student has already enrolled in a government approved academic
institution, has paid his/her fees and has been accepted by the academic
institution before the student can submit his/her application for Temporary
Entry to Canada (Student Authorization).
The Immigration Act
obligates applicants to fulfill the following requirements (among others)
before a student authorization can be issued:
They must satisfy immigration authorities that their intention is to enter
Canada for a temporary period only they must prove that they have adequate
funds to pay for their expenses while studying in Canada.
